Remote Communities

The primary purpose of the Remotes Committee is to carry the AA message to remote and rural communities. The Remotes Committee was established in 2009 as part of the Area 80 Manitoba A.A. service structure.
Our committee meets the second Monday of every month at 6:30pm to discuss our work and next steps. We would love to have you join us. Our meeting is held in-person at Manitoba Central Office and online using Zoom. See the Events calendar for details.

If you have any questions or would like to join our e-mail list, email us at remoteschair@aamanitoba.org

What can we do to help you battle alcoholism in your community?

  1. Connect your community with our Fellowship of sober alcoholics.
  2. Help your community connect with our weekly TeleHealth meetings held 6:15 – 7:30 pm every Tuesday.
  3. Assist you in establishing meetings in your community. (If needed we can supply some basic literature to help get things started and some training on running meetings.)
  4. We can help you find resources on this website.
  5. With your invitation, we can visit your community, to share presentations on what AA is and what we do. We will gladly attend your meetings and share our stories.
  6. Assist clients who are transitioning out of treatment centers connect with other sober alcoholics through the Bridging the Gap program.
  7. We may be able to deliver your literature order from our Manitoba Central Office to save you postal fees. Click here to learn more about Manitoba Central Office and AA Literature.
